4 months

Ashlyn turned 4 months old this past Tuesday.  At her doctor's visit she weighed 11lbs. 10oz. and was 22 inches long.  The doctor said that she is now in the 15th percentile for her size, which is great considering she was in the 0.5 percentile when she was born.  She had to get four shots and one oral vaccine.  I was not looking forward to that part of the doctor's visit.  However she dealt with the pain a little better than she with her 2 month shots because she did not hold her breathe after each shot.  Tuesday night she also ran a 101 degree fever which we were told was a normal reaction to the shots.  We have also been having a problem with cradle cap and eczema, so now all products (i.e., lotion, soap) that we use on her are unscented.

So what is Ashlyn up to these days as a 4 month old:
  • Smiles when she sees mom and dad
  • Coos, especially when she is getting her diaper changed
  • Prefers to suck on her thumb rather than a pacifier
  • Will occasionally clasp both her hands around her bottle, but is not able to hold it on her own yet
  • Will settle down when she is hungry and sees that mom or dad is making her a bottle
  • Still wearing size 0 to 3 month size clothes
  • Sleeps from 10pm to 6am - this makes her mom very happy!
  • Is beginning to be more okay with tummy time
  • Can push herself up with her arms when she is laying on her tummy
  • Still loves her vibrating bouncer
Sweet girl all cuddled up in her bouncer.

Big grin!

Tummy time - "Mom why are you taking a picture of me right now?"

She is so cute Michelle! Cade has bad eczema as well, so no fragrance for us either. I found that the Aveeno Baby Moisture lotion to work really well as well as Aquafor ointment for bad dry patches.
