Half Birthday

Ashlyn turned 6 months this past week.  We do not have our 6 month appointment until next Tuesday because the doctor's office was booked this week, so I will have to let you know her stats next week.  She is learning new things so quickly these days.  Here are some of the things that she can do:
  • Still goes to sleep sucking her thumb
  • Roll both ways (tummy to back and back to tummy)
  • Can sit up in her exersaucer and play with the toys
  • Eats rice cereal once a day- it was a fight for a long time because she just wanted to push it all out with her tongue but I think that we are finally getting the hang of it.
  • Sleeps 10 to 11 hours at night.  She did sleep 12 hours straight this weekend which allows Clay and I to sleep until 8:30am Saturday morning.  It was a nice break from the usual 6:30-7:00am waking time.
  • Giggles more and more, which is sweet music to her mom and dad's ears.
  • She used to be given a bath in her bathtub in the kitchen, but she has gotten to where she splashes water everywhere.  So her bathtub is now put in the hall bathtub so she can splash all she wants.
  • Starting to grow a little more hair
  • Fragrance in baby oil = Itchy baby head.  We discovered that the baby oil that the doctor had told us to put on her head because it was so dry was actually causing her to scratch more because it had fragrance.  Upon closer inspection every baby oil at HEB and Target have fragrance which is no good for baby's with sensitive skin.  Ever since we stopped using the baby oil she still scratches her head some but not nearly as much as she used to.
  • Will entertain herself with her toys, especially her keys, for a little while.
  • Loves to take a nap holding her lovey.
